Herby is a Brooklyn native and first-generation Haitian American who believes that curiosity, discipline, and surrounding yourself with positive people are keys to success. Raised in New York City, he overcame challenges early in life with the support of strong family values, dedicated teachers, and a relentless work ethic. Those experiences helped him earn admission to The Hotchkiss School and later graduate from Columbia University.
A lifelong learner and competitor, Herby represented the United States on the national fencing team, competing in the Pan American Games, World University Games, and World Championships, while serving as an Olympic alternate for the 2000 and 2004 Summer Games. Today, he works as a Software Engineer and Manager in the tech industry while developing startup ventures of his own.
Herby is passionate about helping young people understand the future of technology, entrepreneurship, and Artificial Intelligence. Through his story, he teaches students that success is rarely a straight path—and that dreams only work when you do.
