Shabue Mosley
Chess Instructor

Shabue Mosley is a Long Island native with a deep passion for basketball and a lifelong commitment to mentorship. From an early age, he aspired to play professionally, but his journey took an unexpected turn when he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Rather than letting this setback define him, Shabue embraced the challenge as an opportunity to give back. Today, he is a dedicated basketball trainer, using the game to teach young athletes invaluable life lessons both on and off the court. Beyond basketball, Shabue is an advocate for Multiple Sclerosis awareness, working to highlight its impact particularly within the Black community. In addition to his work in basketball, Shabue is a dedicated chess player and educator with over 20 years of experience studying the game, competing in local tournaments, and honing his strategic skills. He firmly believes that chess is more than just a game. It is a tool for developing critical thinking, problem-solving, concentration, patience, and decision-making skills. Chess also fosters resilience, discipline, and strategic planning, qualities that benefit individuals in academics, sports, and everyday life.
